Sinusitis is a condition that occurs due to inflammation of the tissue lining the sinuses. Sinuses are air space passages in the skull and facial bones. When the sinuses become blocked and filled with fluid, they are at higher risk of infection causing a headache or pressure in the eyes, nose, cheek area, or on one side of the head. Sinus blocks occur from conditions like common cold, allergic rhinitis, nasal polyps or a deviated septum. Sinusitis can be mild or severe lasting from few days to several weeks and the frequency of occurrence depends on each individual conditions.
