Osteo ArthritisLumbar spondylosis describes bone overgrowths predominantly those at the anterior, lateral, and, less commonly, posterior aspects of the superior and inferior margins of vertebral centra. It occurs as a result of new bone formation in areas where the annular ligament is stressed.
Treatment
In Ayurveda, the main aim is to rehydrate the dehydrated disc, reduce pain, inflammation and muscle spasm. The goal is also to strengthen the muscles and nerve roots so that the problem is eliminated from its base by bringing the vitiated ‘Vata dosha‘ back to the state of equilibrium and thereby to the state of health.
The treatment modalities for treating this condition include Panchakarma & Rejuvenation therapies, internal medications, diet and lifestyle changes.
Medicines are prescribed by the doctor after a thorough examination of the patient. Treatments must be done under the supervision or advice of a certified Ayurvedic Doctor and not based on self-judgment.
